Early morning again, get up and get going
Grab an Uber to the airport
Relatively quiet airport and we get tickets one seat apart on the plane ☹️
Through security pretty quickly and grab a bite to eat
Fresh veg noodles and mayo-chicken grilled sandwiches, with needed coffees
Off to board our plane – very full!
New airline: Vistara

Flight has it’s own inflight entertainment you can use on your phones; we enjoy Shrek the Halls with our free meal ????
We land in the most populated city in the world: Mumbai (with 22+ million people here alone!)
There’s another plane in our parking spot – wait a little before we get disembark
Off the plane and straight through the airport – so nice flying domestically so we don’t have to faff with passport control
We spot Costa and take the chance to have a treat before continuing our journey
They’ve a dedicated area for Uber/Ride Services pick ups
Seems they’re really pushing Uber Green (electric rides) so we wait a little for one of these
Finally get one and we’re on the road – about an hour with all the Mumbai traffic!
Indeed, there’s so much traffic

We pass the ‘I ❤️ Mumbai’ sign and cross over the Bandra-Worli Sea Link
There’s so much construction going on – looks like they’re trying to increase public transport as the concrete structures look like they’re for more metro lines
19km done, we arrive at our hotel – The Sahil Hotel – where we check in and freshen up before heading out to get on with some sightseeing
Our hotel sorts us a local cab for cheap to an iconic area for sightseeing

En route, we pass so many prolific buildings, including Mumbai University and Crawford Market, as well as beautiful fountains and greenery
We arrive at the Gateway Of India Mumbai

It’s covered in tourists and, unfortunately, a lot of construction bits
Nevertheless, we wonder in and have a look around – you can walk all the way around it

Davesy is another site of interest though, we get stopped at least 4 or 5 times for photos with local tourists…
It’s hard not to see the Taj Mahal Hotel just a stones throw away

We decide to adventure over there as there’s aparently a bar/cafe that’s available for the public: the Sea Lounge

Sadly, it’s just having a private function of afternoon tea so we pop back out and think to try another time
Just round the corner, we meet Coloba Market – a street market with all sorts for cheap

Up and down the street until we meet a roundabout with Wellington Fountain with many a prestigious looking building

We cross over the road to reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (art and history museum)
There are so many giant bats in the trees, being active in daylight too!

We investigate and it’s not too expensive to have a look around inside
Daisy has her student card so gets a 90% discount on the entrance ticket

So many rooms to look at!
We get lost in here for about an hour – they even have an Egyptian mummy

We head out and wonder a little aimlessly
We notice a building very familiar: Rajabai Clock Tower

Stumble upon the Oval Maidan where there are people everywhere having their shot at being a cricket star!

From there, we stroll straight
Clearly end of the working day as there’s so much foot and vehicle traffic

Continuing further, we come across more main roads

And we reach Marine Drive

We chill and enjoy the sea air for a little
Getting hungry we venture in search for a meal
Foo Town is a Chinese tapas restaurant and we decide to go here

A lovely feast and treat for us both
They even had a Christmas vibe in the place!

Happy tums and all sleepy now, we grab a ride back to our hotel and get some well deserved sleep after a long day!
