Day 83 – Goa-ing to sea what’s on

Woken up by the sound of the waves, the various animals about the place … and then some Fleetwood Mac coming from the restaurant

Make a coffee using some fancy coffee bag/filter things – they attach to the cup, you pour water through and voila, a real coffee! So good drinking it in bed watching the waves out the window … and only slightly hungover ????

Breakfast time!

Time to explore – we wonder out of the hotel and try some roads to try and reach Palolem Beach

Luck’s out that the route works

We reach the furthest East corner

Didn’t realise prior, but we have to go through the water to get to the main beach – bit of a tricky route but we’re both pig-headed and not willing to turn back!

Wouldn’t recommend as it literally says it’s prohibited to swim as it’s so dangerous ????

Making it safe and sound, eventually, we can stroll on the beach

Lots of little resorts and restaurants as well as stray cows and dogs everywhere

Baking in the heat, we find somewhere to set our butts

Palolem Beach Resort sorts us with a couple of beers and some lunch to share

Time to play in the water

Very toasty in the heat and it’s a rather soothing from the direct sun

There’s lots of water sports going on so we want to join: a kayak for two

We set off West around Kanika island though it’s not an easy affair – the sea is very against us

We carry on and find Dragonfly Beach

Not so much a beach but pretty

Around some big rocks, we find Butterfly Beach

Pretty tourist-filled but nice to see the sun getting ready to set

Got to start heading off to make sure we don’t get back too late/in the dark (plus we forgot any water!)

We even see two jellyfish…

Not too late after our two hour slot and it’s time for a well-deserved chill

Strawberry daiquiri and a mojito

Cafe Silver Star has us with a couple cocktails, fresh orange and water

Time for dinner – we head to the end of the beach where we saw a bonfire/open barbecue

Prawn xacuti and chicken vindaloo – two traditional Goan curries

We even get a little firework show right in front as it’s someone’s birthday in the restaurant nextdoor

There’s also a lot of stray dogs around – all very well behaved, mind you – and four little puppies

After eating we head back towards our hotel along the beach

We hear some live music and instantly get enticed – seems it’s an open mic night at Rococco and is a hub for all the white people!

A couple cheeky drinks and about 5 different acts later, we head to our hotel – this time via a safer, less watery route ????

Quick shower and then to bed
