Day 101 – Having a zoo-rific time!

Up early as there’s some construction going on in the floor above us

Chill for a little then decide to go make the most of our suites’ facilities

The pool is empty as we arrive but a couple other people come through

Big pool, jacuzzi and steamroom (as well as a little gym)

Back up to get showered and head out

Quick pit stop for some lunch, at Oporto (seems like the Nando’s equivalent here)

Otropo burger, with chicken, pineapple and salad, and a halloumi & chicken burger

Train to Circular Quay and then on to a ferry – catch the F2 just as it’s heading out

Arrive to Taronga Zoo Wharf

The zoo has two entries so we go to the nearest – seals, sealions and penguins are first

Off round to see some otters!

Key other animals include Dingos, Wallabies, Kangaroos, sleeping Wombats

Finally find a Quokka!

They have bush turkeys, bin chickens and Eastern Water Dragons basically everywhere as well as Cockatoos flying freely

Another win – a Duck-Billed Platypus ????

A segment dedicated to their nocturnal friends showed us a Yellow-Bellied Glider

Finally we see Capybaras, a Zebra butt as well as a Giraffe enjoying the Harbour view (main post image)

Time to leave so we go for the other, main entrance and wonder round the outside

Go through a little path to take us off the main road and we see an afternoon wedding

Past that, we walk down to find Athol Beach – fab view of the landmarks!

Back up we wonder round to get to the ferry terminal

The ferry takes us back via Mosman Bay Wharf, clearly the fancy-pance side of Sydney

Arrive at Circular Quay again, we pop on the train to Woolworths to organise some idea of dinner

On the train home to Mascot

Back home, dinner goes in the oven and we get Total Recall on the telly

Note: Aus has their own extensive streaming platform, Stan, but it’s not easy to get as a British citizen – with tech support here, we find a way ????
