Out of the motel and wander over to the sea for breakfast at Diggies overlooking the beach – pancakes and eggs benni

After breakfast walk along the waterfront promenade “blue mile” – have a little paddle in the estuary and sea, then walk back towards the lighthouse
Plenty of people with BBQs, swimming, surfing and even skydiving going on around us
We walk along the old tramway (the promenade used to be an old tramway for the coal mine) to the harbour passing a couple of natural sea swimming pools

In the harbour we see a few Pelicans bobbing about but also see a giant stingray going for a swim – so cool!

The Old Wollongong lighthouse – built in 1872 and Australia’s first pre-fabricated
We then head back through the mall to grab a couple of bits before driving along the coast to Kiama
We’re here to see the Kiama Blow Hole – shooting water up to 60 metres in the air, it’s surrounded by some stunning basalt columns and massive crashing waves – it even has a tourist centre
After a stroll we head just down the road to the Little Blow Hole – it’s adorable but even more awesome as you can get so much closer and there’s virtually nobody about

We drive up the Tourist Drive 15 road through Jamberoo national park, up some steep mountain roads to our stop at Carrington falls – very awesome the falls and the valley! There is a great little circular path to the see the falls, the valley and kangaroo river and back to the car

We go rambling over the rocks at the waterfall edge – careful not to fall to our death of course – awesome views so definitely worth it
Dave spots a black adder (top 10 poisonous snakes), takes a photo but it seems camera shy when a family comes running over, gets irritated and thankfully slivers away from us – also spot a skink or 2

Drive along seeing cows, horses, sheep, llamas, a kookaburra sitting on the power lines and a bunny scampering
Pass some small wineries
Get to our shared house but have been upgraded to the en-suite room at the top – lovely
Freshen up – we’ve got burnt! Nooooo!
Off to Goulburn for a curry! Lovely town looks like something from an American 60s movie

Chicken tikka masala and madras and keema naan! We’ve missed the good proper English curries
