Day 3 – Miles to Milan

Up and at them! Snuggle, shower and shave. Only 10 mins late for check out ????

Grabbed tram 26 and then tram 7 to a spot a little bit out of town

Dave finds biggest Windmill in Amsterdam, De Gooyer Molen – very beautiful and hairy-looking

A kebab and a windmill, naturally

Hungry so in search of food we found the Dappermarkt! Little market area which we walked up and down of – nice and random and full of locals

Caved for some mini Dutch pancakes

Popped for a fancy coffee before slumming it out with a dirty kebab, Beste Doner – not the usual, thick bread, layers of sauce and bits. Om nom nom

Shared some of the bread with the pigeons before waiting for a tram to get back to the centre

Hopped off at Dam Square, aka Barry (pigeon) Central, to take a look around

Daisy in her element!

Strolled through the shopping streets to Amsterdam Centraal to grab train to airport

Of course, delayed – about 1.5 hours

Gate M was quite tiny but did have a couple of food places – rather pricey so I would not recommend getting here early

Finally we arrive at Milan! Get the train easy enough and swiftly get out to go to a pizzeria Ai Tre Ponti

One hell of a hectic pizza place. Definitely for the locals! Better not be epileptic (blinking light going crazy)!

Giant deep dish-styled pizzas but surprisingly fluffy. They have a different style of nduja here – not really sausage, more like spicy sauce

The Nduja pizza

Panic to train station to get hour train to hotel near Camilla’s, Palazzo Pasta Malpensa, though another train delayed!

Double decker train and underground most of the time so not much to see

Gallerate! Walk quickly to our hotel from the station

Get settled and sleep before an early rise
