Up earlier than check out as we’ve got to dash to drop the car off today; check out of our castle

Kick off the day with a drive thru bakery stop for coffee at The Golden Nugget, not far from our ivory tower

We drive in the godforsaken roads that make you go through Melbourne rather than around it ???? but we do make it, just 20 minutes late for our drop off time

Grab the bus to the local train station and almost an hour train ride takes us to Southern Cross, back to the heart of Melbourne

We’re staying in a serviced apartment block, Aura on Flinders, for the next couple nights – we even get an upgrade to a corner suite with a balcony

Quickly freshen up and then wonder down to a tram stop, hop on until the Flinders and Swanston Street junction which gets us to Federation Square

Down to the Yarra River’s edge is Riverside which has us for some food

Two lunch special steaks for Davesy ????

We stew here for a while, both hiding from the sun and enjoying people watching and they have some rowers all over the Yarra River

At 5pm, we make tracks for Old Vic Markets for the weekly Wednesday night food and music shindig

We grab a sangria each and take in the Latin American music theme they have for this week

A stroll round all the stalls until we realise we’re not overly hungry so head onwards

We go via Flagstaff in hope of an early rising Possum (no luck ????) before picking up some supplies from Coles on the way back to our place

More chill time with the wine Daisy picked up for her birthday

Apollo 13 is on the telly and we have it with our dinner combination of Chinese duck pancakes and Thai green curry with Indian garlic naans ????

Time for bed
