A lovely early start to the day thanks to our fellow hotel guests… I’m sure we got a solid few hours sleep ????
Silver lining is that we definitely make it down for some breakfast with many cups of coffee, we guess – Daisy has her record of passion fruits today, at 6, and Dave has some pastries
We checkout out of the hotel and then have a few words with management – we get a refund for last night at least, though we have to sign an NDA
Time to hightail it for some coffee – we go back to the Hoi An Roastery and have a voucher for 50% off from the MIX Greek restaurant so basically only buy one of the drinks at just over £2

While we’re here, we realise there’s another Greek place nearby – Greek Souvlaki Restaurant Hoi An – and fancy something like that for lunch; Dave orders a couple souvlakis while Daisy pays up for the coffee and our ride for today arrives
With the food in the car, we nom and get taken to our new hotel in Da Nang – it’s not too far but we found a bargain price, at 250k
We arrive and get checked in – sadly, we are in a twin room – the room is nice though and the beds are comfy so very promising potential for a good sleep!
The hotel has an odd set up: we’re on the eighth floor and the pool is on the seventh, the hotel is hollow in the centre so from the top floor to the seventh you can see the pool – safe to say we’re enticed so we go for a dip

Being an indoor pool, it’s actually kind of nippy so we only go in for about 10 minutes before getting back up to our room to do some work for a couple hours
After, we get ready and venture out – we’re hungry so get a Grab taxi to an area a bit South of us around the beach
Da Nang has a long strip of beach running all the way down the East of it – it’s made up of a couple beaches, with one (or the entire stretch, we’re a little unclear) being in the top six for beaches in the world
We get dropped around My An Beach and the sun’s beginning to set

Even as the sun is going down, and it starting to get dark, the beach is still very full!
We’re getting hungry so head inland to take a look at some of the restaurants we found on Google – we settle immediately for COUNTRY BBQ & BEER as it looks like it’ll do the trick

The combo #2 platter consists of about 100g of four meats, a little side salad and chips – it looks tiny but we clearly just can’t eat as much as we used to anymore as it fills us nicely, for now
After, we wander around the area – An Thuong Night Market is just to the left of here so we have a look around and grab a walking beer

It’s only small so after we go up and down, we go and have a look around the other streets where there seems to be a big Western theme of restaurants and bars
We then go back to the beach area and have a nose at some of the bars here – they’re very dead but they have stuff going on for the next few days, as well as watersports we could do, so make a note
Needing the facilities, we go back to the BBQ place and have another snack and a drink

It’s not a typical Philly cheese steak sandwich but it fills a hole
Daisy gets us a Grab taxi so we can go explore some of the places we noticed when we initially got the taxi out tonight; however, she gets it to the wrong place ????
It doesn’t matter as it was only a pound and the temperature is a lot cooler by the sea so walking isn’t too bad
Along the way, we end up picking a couple more to go drinks – it even includes a BOGOF
There’s many a restaurant with their live produce at the front – one of them has the biggest Grouper we’ve ever seen and some others even have Moray Eels!

We continue down the water’s edge and it seems there’s an art show on for the holiday weekend which is now about closed so we turn off on our hotel’s street and make our way back to enjoy our beds
