A slow start today: Daisy naps while Dave works as he’s been awake for a while with noisy children playing in the pool as it’s still the national holiday ????
At about 11am, we’re both up and have a coffee before getting ready and heading out to Bikini Bottom Express
We’re back as they had a nice selection of brunch items available and the food was good last night already

A eggs Benedict with bacon, a trio of fluffy pancakes (with fruit but that came early so got scoffed immediately) and a couple of cappuccinos
We have this and then get a Grab taxi and head off North East, to the Son Tra Peninsula
It takes about 20 minutes to reach Linh Ung Pagoda and Bai But – not the same one from Ba Na Hills, but we think the original – which is where an eye-catching landmark of Da Nang is situated: The Lady Buddha
Starting off in the Tháp Xá Lợi pagoda and garden area, we wander around the many marble Buddhas, including the Buddha of the future
We first saw this type of Buddha back in the Mekong Delta and represents the future as he is laying down to present sleep or death which he accepts after a long and meaningful life
Then we venture to the main area of the complex: the pagoda hosts the giant 60 metre Buddha who is visible from Da Nang Bay

We walk all the way around her admiring the intricate garden and statues below her – she’s the Goddess of Mercy, or Guanyin
As well as this, we find ourselves with some Monkeys

The whole area is quite large so it takes us about 40 minutes to explore it all before we get our Grab taxi back to the hotel
We change and get back out again; just before making a proper move, we get two orange juices from a stall just by our hotel
The walk to the beach is short and then we see there’s been a sandcastle competition

We then find a place where there are showers and lockers to drop off our stuff before having a dip in the waves; we’re in for about half an hour and then come out
Seems everyone is doing the opposite as there’s a sea of bikes everywhere parked up which must be for the fact it’s Labour Day, after Reunification Day yesterday
We walk back to have a shower and get back out to get a Grab taxi that takes us to Son Tra Night Market

It’s one of the biggest and busiest we’ve seen; we don’t find anything in particular we’d like to have to eat here, as the specialty appears to be giant Lobsters, so we take a walk around the area by the river
No luck with this either so we get a Grab to a place across the water that Dave found

The Thai Cuisine Đà Nẵng is a chain serves us a Thai green curry and a pad Thai – we’re so hungry, we order another portion of each!
The electricity goes out just as we’re paying up and it’s quite sweet all the staff just start singing “happy birthday” to make it look like it was on purpose so as not to panic anyone ????
We walk and get to the riverside in this side and admire the Dragon Bridge at night – because it’s Labour Day, they’ve made the Dragon breathe fire (eventhough that’s only usually a weekend treat)

Some bolts of lightning start to happen and a bit of rain – not too much that it stops us from walking the bridge, mind you
We have a look at another viewpoint for the Dragon Bridge on this side before ordering a Grab taxi and making our way back
Before bed, we have some Good Place on the laptop
