Day 226 – You can either Kuala like it or Kuala Lump(ur) it

We’re up at around 9:15am to catch breakfast; some non-traditional choices but we get our money’s worth

Back up, we chill with a hotel coffee, do some work and get ready before checking out at midday

We leave our bags as we’re going to be back later to get a free ride to the airport from the hotel; for now, we’re going to get a nice coffee

Wind Garden Coffee has a quaint courtyard with a pond full of Koi Fish

We enjoy a cappuccino each while getting on with some admin

After that, we wander back to get our bags and a Grab to the international airport

All the walls in the airport claim it’s a five star airport, which we’ve never heard of, but good on them

We get through security and get a Burger King for lunch while we wait for boarding

Boarding is on time and speedy and we’re in the air in no time

The flight is about 2.5 hours and we arrive into KL around 8pm so get to see the sunset through the plane window

However, upon getting on land and trying to get through security, it seems they’ve introduced a new precaution for tourists entering: you need to complete an online boarding information card but the internet available is so rubbish, it’s almost impossible

After struggling for about half an hour, we eventually get it just about sorted and make it through

The airport here is a maze and you have to venture through a shopping mall and down a level to get to where you can be collected by a Grab taxi

Taxis are much cheaper than the public transport train option – £8 pp for the train versus £10 to directly take us to our hotel about an hour away – so we go for it

We get to our hotel, The Verdant Hill (which we’ve stayed at before), and get straight out for some dinner

With it being a sort of rough day, we have somewhere in mind we’ve been to before and really enjoyed

… Though, with Daisy being sleepy, we accidentally make it to another place – doesn’t matter though as it’s somewhere we’ve saved that we wanted to try

1947 Namaste India serves us a CTM and a chicken Labdawar with a garlic naan and two tiger beers – the view is pretty sweet (see the featured photo for this post)

We settle up here and go past our hotel to a busy street as we fancy a draft pint

Gravy Baby does just that; we have these and then call it a night where we shower and get to bed ASAP
