Up and out after a cheeky hotel coffee and some Liar Liar on the TV
Picked up by our driver for the day; we make our way slowly out of the city through the traffic
We drive past some rice fields and are informed by our driver they don’t eat bread in Indonesia – it’s rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner

We stop off in Soreang to pick up a cheeky Dunkin Donuts for breakfast – 2 cappuccinos, savoury croissants and of course a couple of donuts
We drive up into the mountains, 1,800m high, so it’s nice and cool – only 15 degrees ????
Pass by some bridges and railways that the Dutch built for the tea plantations
We make it to the bottom of Mount Pathua, pay 110k each and get a little bus up the steep mountain side

Get to the Kawah Putih crater (or white crater), which is steaming in parts
They say to wear a mask and stay only 15 minutes, due to the toxic gasses, but we didn’t really find it too bad – definitely been to worse sulphur-y craters before

Off to the Cibuni Rengganis crater next
We arrive and pay for a VIP pass, for 100k each, that allows us access here as well as down the road for some other activities
First is the suspension bridge

This takes us to the side you can access it’s hot pools but first, we must chair zip line across!

These pools are much smellier than the first crater – and rather hot too!
We enjoy here and then get back to the car
Our driver tells us that this area has the biggest tea plantation in Indonesia, which is combination of 5 cities and was originally introduced from the Dutch
Next stop is down to Patenggang Lake (the other part we have access to with our tickets) which has glamping opportunities, if that’s what you fancy
We go to a big boat-like structure, called Pinisi Resto, and grab a couple of chicken steaks for a very late lunch

We then have a stop off at the lake side for a stroll around the park near the boats – riding on the boats isn’t included but it’s pretty to stroll around and you can occasionally spot Monkeys (we didn’t though, sadly)
Next, we head to Ranca Upas – looks a bit like another place you can camp but we prefer to just get to feed some Deer with some carrots – 100k to get in is a bit steep, but they were some happy Deers

Getting late, we start our journey back to Bandung – about 1.5hrs down the windy mountain roads
Back to the hotel, we briefly freshen up and head out again to a different night market from last night: Paskal Food Market

This one’s a lot fancier, with seemingly more stalls too – we wander around and stop at Bakmie Gang Monyet for a Mie Gareng Ayam (chicken fried noodles) – you order, get a receipt and go pay somewhere else (where tax gets added) then come back to get your food
Not stuffed, we go to Sate Kardjan (est 1925) for 5 chicken and 5 lamb sate sticks – yummy ????
Finally, we round off our dinner with the one spot that has a queue around the block: BBQ Mountain Boys Burger – we grab a classic burger and one that contains pineapple ????

Knackered now, we get a Grab and head home to sleep
