Day 241 – A pool day for Davesy

Up for our final breakfast here – today they have a small buffet spread on but they do offer us some banana pancakes which are hard to say no to ????

Back to the room, we prepare ourselves and belongings to check out – Daisy has been a bit silly and turned off the fridge as it was loud and it accidentally soaked Dave’s poor bag ????

We check out and await a taxi to take us to lunch – seems today is incredibly busy around Ubud as we end up waiting almost an hour for anyone to reach us!

Still recovering, we go to our safe spot, of Arte Cafe, and enjoy pretty much what we have yesterday with the great lunch deal they offer: a fettuccine carbonara, a calzone, a cappuccino and a sprite

We organise a little bit and book a hotel nearby for this evening and another in a different location for the following nights after

With this, we make our way to the hotel for this evening, Umala at Bisma, to drop off our stuff

It’s on a relatively quiet street and boasts a lot of rice fields surrounding it – these also have a lot of birds in them, including a whole hoard of Ducks!

These were another group but they seem to be everywhere on this road!

After this excitement, we properly start our day and get a taxi to a place just outside of town; we actually get lost to begin with as it’s down a road that’s a fair bit battered and seemed quite long

We go up and down it until we find a sort of entrance and then just a little further until we find the actual venue

Kelapa Muda Ubud Pool Bar & Kitchen does what it says in the name: an out-of-the-way restaurant with a pool and pool bar with idyllic views of rice fields and new hotel developments

We get straight to enjoying a pina colada each with their happy hour

The pool is open late but as the sun goes down, it gets a little nippy, honestly – we get out, pay up and make our way out, using their complimentary shuttle bus this time

Struggling to find any taxi that’ll come down the battered road, the shuttle driver is kidnapped enough to take us all the way to the end and then we’re scooted back to town

In search of dinner, we stumble on Cinta Grill which serves us some lovely meals: a spicy Thai green curry and some chicken fajitas

With some room still left in our tummies, we go basically next door to Gelato Factory Ubud for a couple of cones as we walk home

One passion fruit with mixed berries and one strawberry with tiramisu

The walk is short and we are welcomed back to our little street with a choir of very loud bugs, geckos and frogs – we’re just not sure!

We watch a little of Above the Law before trying to sleep
