Day 244 – Gallivanting to Gili

We haven’t got breakfast included in our stay but we buy it for today as we have a busy morning and need to be out quick

Varieties of toast, some pancakes, juices and a couple of coffees (in John Lewis mugs ????)

After, we go back up to the room to get organised and back down to find a ride to Padang Bai Port – it’s about a two hour drive and inDrive gets us a pretty good deal

We’re at the port by around 1pm where we get checked in at the boat office get straight onto our boat

It’s running a little late and it’s rather rammed!

The ride was meant to take 1.5 hours to our destination but 2.5 later we arrive at the first stop: Gili T

There’s another island stop first before we arrive at Gili Air

Upon getting off the boat, we pay the island tax, of 20k each, and then make our way a little up the road to our hotel

Along the very short walk, there’s so many bikes and one of them even catches Dave’s bag and breaks the shoelace of shoes on the bag ????

We arrive at B52 Hotel and check in, drop the bags and head out quickly as we’re starving…

Dave has found Mama Pizza which sorts us out some lovely food

A chicken pizza, a salami pizza and two glasses of Balinese white wine; just what the doctor ordered!

We get a lush view of the sunsetting into next door Gili Meno too

With some wine, we take a minute to relax and realise we’ve travelled about 60km in about six hours!!

We’re very grateful to be here and glad island life proves to be quite chill and slow paced

Next, we’re pretty exhausted so we just wander back to our hotel and have an early night; the hotel has rather thin walls but it’s good that none of the other guests are being too loud
