At 9:30am, we’re up to have breakfast, pack up and sort a Grab taxi to take us to the bus station just on the edge of town
We drive past the US consulate celebrating 190 years of US-Thai diplomacy!
The coach station is a bit disorganised, as we partially remembered, but we get to the ticket counter to pay only 300 baht for 2 tickets (£3 each) – bargain!
Dave hurries to get a couple of cappuccinos and spots the worlds largest Cockroach running about
We down our burning hot coffees, hop onboard what appears to be a brand new minibus – still has the “new bus” smell – and then we are off (via a petrol station) up to Pai!
Most of the way, the bus stops at a place for us to use the facilities and have the option for a coffee – we find the place’s large superhero figures instead

762 corners and 3 hours later, it was slightly unpleasant but we made it without vomiting ???? the bus technically arrives and hour early too, which is a win
From the bus terminal, it’s a short stroll around the corner from Pai bus station to our hotel: Pai Cherkaew
We check in, shower and chill briefly while organising a load of washing – this is basically everything as it’s all beyond filthy ????
Out and onto the walking street, we pop our laundry into Blue House Laundry – only 95 baht for 3kilos
Starving, we pop into Lemon Thyme Cafe for a little bite to eat – avocado on toast and a homemade lemonade for Dave and a spag bowl with a peach soda for Daisy

After food, we head out for a walk around and about the town
We find Wat Klang, a bridge over the river by one of the schools, some potential dinner spots as well as a cafe that has two pet Bunnies Daisy can play with

Back to chill for a bit, we refresh and head out in search of dinner; on our way out, the walking street has come alive with many food stalls and bars that accept you eating these in their places – very jazzy
We decide to head to BeBeSpice Indian Restaurant anyways as we just fancy a curry tonight – it was one of the places we noticed on our walk which serves some of the cheapest curries we’ve seen in a while

Our usual CTM, jalfrezi and naan as well as some onion barjis; the place also had a friendly Dog who kept us company
After this, we head back to check out the walking street and grab a cheeky crepe for dessert

Somehow, it’s already gone 10pm and still feeling rough from the journey we head back to chill and try to sleep!
