Up at 8am and out grabbing a cappuccino on the way out the door; for some reason we struggle to organise a Grab but the third one’s the charm and we’re on our way
The driver is very sweet and wishes us happy and safe travels home too – adorable ☺️
We arrive into BKK after 10am and get straight to the check in queue as we’ve had to get one cabin bag; to do this, we’ve put Daisy’s big backpack in Dave’s big backpack and it only totals 11kg – seems we’ve lost lots of our stuff along the way!
The little remaining bits of our stuff that didn’t fit, or we needed on the plane, are packed into two tiny bags and we’re on our way to security
It’s pretty quick as we’re in a rush, because the check in queue was so long, but we grab a Burgers King for lunch and spend the rest of our cash in a deli for two sandwiches each and two sweet treats
We bought our flights from the airline company called Norse who do a great price for the ticket but it basically just includes the ticket – you have to buy meals yourself, which aren’t cheap, so we opt to bring our own stuff instead
Just before we get to our gate – which appears to be the furthest point from where we started ???? – we get a cappuccino to share and some haribos with our small remaining change and it’s not long before we’re boarded
Our seats are in a small cabin just behind first class so it’s quieter than the main area at the back – absolute pot luck as we do not like to pay for seat choice – and the seats in front with more legroom aren’t taken either so we can move there and get Dave enough space ????

The flight is long but the only thing we choose to buy onboard are some very expensive wired headphones which we share to watch some of the inflight films
Finally… over 12 hours later, we land in Oslo
We get off, breeze through passport control and wait for our baggage to then try and find dinner
It’s Sunday, which we didn’t fully realise, and that means most things are shut; we get on train to Oslo S or Oslo Central Station – it costs almost £10 each

We’re there shortly and as we have to pick up some keys to where we’re staying for the next few days in an awkward place, we decide to get a Bolt taxi
The keys are at a local Shell gas station nearby so we pick them up, as well as some milk and orange juice, and walk over
The Airbnb is in a small residential area in Gamle; the apartment is very chic and nicely dressed
We put a small load of laundry on while waiting for some dinner

A pepperoni passion pizza from a local pizza takeaway, using the Foodora app
Eating as much as we can, we quickly call it time for bed and try and get some rest
As we woke up around 8am in Bangkok and finally got to bed around midnight in Oslo, it’s been a solid 21 hours of daylight – Norway has a very, very late sunset (and early sunrise) so it’s not even fully set by the time we’re trying to sleep
