We are able to board and get settled with an efficient take off and dinner is served not too long after

Next, we try and doze to get through the 12.5 hours of this flight – Daisy is more successful than Dave

We are provided some more food in order to try and make sense of the timezone transition

And… we land into New Zealand!

It’s about 5pm and we’re feeling more than exhausted; thankfully, the NZ border is very friendly and we’re able to get through rather quickly and out to fresh air

Another bonus is that the SkyDrive bus arrives pretty promptly so we’re able to pay $20 each (about £10) to get into the centre of Auckland

The stop is at the Sky Tower which is very close to where we’re staying so we just wander over to Heritage Auckland, which is where our Airbnb is

It’s a nice apartment we’ve got booked for a week so we can recover from jetlag and chill for a little
