Awesome host has actually let us stay until 5pm so we don’t have to carry our bags about

Of course this means Dave is awake annoyingly early! Whilst Daisy sleeps, he goes exploring

First stop Maison Coco for a one of the best pain aux raisin things ever! Sooo good ???? and an ok machine coffee ????

Walk through the city, into old town, nose at the Turkish baths, then head past the cemetery up to Yellow fortress for some great views of the city – fortress itself is pretty much a big mound with a cafe on top, but good views worth the visit

Carry on up to the Red fortress through the suburbs of Sarajevo – this one isn’t for the light hearted! It’s stupidly steep all the way up! How did they actually manage to build on this!

Fortress is more of a mound again, but views across Sarajevo and the mountains is pretty spectacular! And from here you can see at least 4 mass graveyards taking up huge swathes of land!

Down through the labyrinth of narrow streets to the White fortress which actually has walls! But not open today 🙁

Head down along the front to old town and Barry central to meet daisy ????

Head to Astra for coffee and lunch – not the best but certainly not the worst meal

Wonder around town to check out genocide museum but entrance fee rather steep so carry on wondering

End up in shopping centre, have a nose in Pull and Bear

Back to pack and chill

Head to old town to find this bloody airport bus – no info so we chill with baklava and coffee and ice creams – even though it’s bloody cold out

Manage to catch the airport bus in thanks to daisy running like a crazy person at it ????

Nice smooth ride on our own private bus to the airport

Watch out it’s not the best! No food at all! It’s rather under construction and most things are closed or out of order – if you come this way avoid getting here too early (except the issue that they don’t do online checkin so you have to actually queue to get your ticket)

Security is small and a breeze through it to nothingness – we are gonna be hungry tonight… let’s hope the plane has food!

Quick flight, breeze through passport control since there are only like 10 people at the airport to meet our ride organised by tonight’s host as the airport is a good while out of town!

Driving through some very shady streets next to dark alleys, factories… should we be worried?

Nope, we arrive and the apartment is lush – 2 massive big screen tvs, balconies, kitchen, massive sofas, huge bed … not bad for £25 a night ????
