Up bright and early! Catching the Flixbus from Trieste to Ljubljana – it’s faffy but leaves on time! (Catch it from inside the building not the outside bus stop that google takes you to)

Journey up to the mountains see Trieste from above, double decker car transporting train, clouds sitting in the valleys, little villages and churches nestled in the trees – all very nice

Make it to Ljubljana, grab a costa – it’s still early morning and we need caffeine!

Walkies and Brunch by the river with some eggs Benedict and pancakes!

Amazon Slovenia doesn’t exist! Use Amazon Germany but it’s like 2 week delivery – so no random online shopping for us

Beer by the river – only £3 a pint of Union (the local beer) good generic lager would recommend – but don’t pay more than 4 euros for it!

To get around you need Urbana card or Urbana app – we got the app, it uses Bluetooth and will connect even if you don’t tap it on the machine! Be warned!

You can Get an Irish coffee from a vending machine for a euro! Why not aye

To Airbnb, no kettle or tv and the pillow is about as big as a tea towel – still bigger than the shower, oh dear

Bus back to town and join Free Tours walking tour – a few hours around the city taking in the new Vienna styles of post 1895 earthquake and the original baroque old town that survived

Three bridges, squares, churches, views of the church – have to try the local sausage and cake apparently – all round a great tour, highly recommend

Food! Painful search of not expensive food, ended up with massive pizza and beer at Ljubljanski dvor – actually reasonable price and yummy and next to a bar with some banging tunes

Stroll to Union brewery for a litre of beer and the pub quiz(all in Slovenian but got some of the music questions at least) Be warned food is not cheap here!
