Definitely waking up feeling rough today ????

An obligatory McDonald’s to get us up and going before we head out of Blenheim

The drive is about 1.75 hours to our destination today but there’s a hefty amount of traffic around the Taimate area which adds an extra hour to our journey…

We get to enjoy the view of pink lakes Saltworks at least though

The route is the same as the one we took to get up so we have another stop at Ōhau (see the featured image)

We take this road down to Kaikōura where we get to our motel for the next couple nights

The owner is kind enough to warn us about an air raid-sounding siren that goes off for the local volunteer fire brigade who are called out for fires and local emergencies – apparently, the alarm went off three times yesterday!

We wander to the New World supermarket to get some dinner supplies – our unit is an apartment so we’re able to cook up a little homemade feast

CTM with a little kick, some chips as well as sort-of naan breads and poppadoms

Some sleep is needed!
