No microwave for our porridge, this morning, so get up and ready and head out to Hungry Jack’s
This is Australia’s Burger King, because they couldn’t claim the trademark for whatever reason

A sausage and egg Turkish bap, with BBQ sauce as brown sauce doesn’t exist here ????, and a whopper
To the main event – a little drive to Paynesville where we park up and there’s an adorable little Sunday market or car boot sale

Towards the shore, we find Tin Shed which appears to be a literally floating tin shed for live music
There’s an incredibly cute ferry that runs you to Raymond Island in less than 5 mins
We board, for free on foot, and reach the island for a coffee, from The Two Has Beans

You should be able to guess the main attraction with that photo ????
We go on one of the walking Kolala trails that takes you round the edge of the island
Spotting Comorants, Moorhens and Black Swans to begin

We make it to the beach on the other side with no luck
Then, we go inland… and spot 3 in close proximity in residence’s of the islands greenery!
This lead us to a pedestrian-only clearing – called the Raymond Island Gippsland Lakes Reserve – and spot three more, up close and even having lunch!

Walking by, not even looking for them, one even throws two “Old Man Banksia” (a type of tree flower) at us as he climbs high ????
Mixing and matching the several Koala trails they offer, we end up spotting 14 of the furry, grey bears, a field of Kangaroos and even some King Parrot’s nest within a tree
Our walk round complete, we grab the ferry back over
We need a late lunch – we go to Sips and Chips for a sausage roll and a cone of chips
Then pop next door to the Paynesville Hotel for a schooner; Dave goes for the state-famous Victoria Bitters
Back to Bairnsdale – we stop at their jazzy looking St Mary’s Church

Finally, we pick up a cheeky little Chinese from Lake of China Chinese Restaurant: Sweet and Sour noodles and Chicken chow mein
They were pretty pants… bland, flavourless boiled sadness so would not recommend ☹️ – so bad we don’t even have a picture
On that note, bed time!
