Day 12 – Time for Bled

Early start to the day and straight to the nearest cafe – B&B bar – for a coffee – it wasn’t the best or the cheapest, maybe avoid if you can

The bus to bled does stop at the nearby bus stop in Tivoli, you can buy the tickets online … but you have to collect them from the bus station in town… helpful

Bus to the bus station, all buses to bled sold out until 1pm, fine we will get that then! Only 2 euros each so can’t complain

Grab a coffee and a McDonald’s whilst we wait and work on this lovely blog of ours – the Big Mac and double cheeseburger are basically the same as always

Finally coach arrives, mad rush to get on – it’s full when it leave and people are left behind in the car park – make sure you are the first on!

Coach Journey to Bled only took 45 minutes! Then the traffic in bled is rather horrendous- add another 15 mins to the bus station

Half hour walk to our accommodation Penzion Preznik – long walk but it’s worth it, this place is lovely ????

Freshen up, grab the free bike rentals (because we walked they free, normally 15 euros) and off to Bled (via a nice long diversion since construction works has blocked the main road!)

Church on the island

Bike into bled is fine until in town and the bike paths disappear! Not very bike friendly until you get to the lake! Then an awesome ride around the lake, highly recommend! It would be a very long walk, but the bike only takes us a few hours – seeing the sights of the castle, church, swimming spots

Starving and back in bled, find somewhere to leave bikes and get pizza!

Pizzeria Rustik – Ham&Pineapple and Spicy

Bike ride home in the dark under the stars

Back to the hotel and there are some nice Firepits roaring away to warm us up
