Getting our coffee, donut, train routine down to a T ????
Our daily ride to the centre where we get off at Flagstaff to wonder nearby
We’re back at Queen Vic Markets to see all the brick-a-brac and fresh food vendors

Grab a little cappuccino, as well, from Market Lane Coffee
Even indulge in the market and purchase some Uno playing cards
An idea for the day strikes so we get outta there and head back to the railway
After almost an hour – it takes forever getting around this city! – we arrive in Williamstown
This is a popular and fashionable maritime village though it’s appreciated as history shows it was Melbourne’s first port, established in 1837
We are sorta hungry so wonder the streets admiring the cute old wchool-lookimg buildings and monitoring for a cheap eat
We come across Atomic Bar & Restaurant which is having some Friday deals and go straight for it
A mound of 24 wings for about a buck a wing does us nicely, with Buffalo sauce

Chilling here, we get a fair amount of admin sorted for the next stage of our travels – seems our current accommodation is proving an effective incentive to get out of Melbourne (for now)
Time to go; the next leg of today isn’t far: Gem Pier
We’re quickly put on our ferry which takes us over the Melbourne Harbour and through to St Kilda, in less than half an hour – basically the only ones on it too

We arrive and, not really sure what exactly to do here, stroll South East along the beach front
This takes us to the Shakespeare Grove Platform to get a nice view
Then seeing the interesting look of St Kilda Marina Lighthouse, we go nearer to get a good look
Not an easy place to get to but snap a cheeky shot before getting hot in the sun – which was not the weather forecast today, btw ???? – and go inland
We check out a couple dinner options on the way to St Kilda Botanical Gardens
It has a little pond within that has a cute fountain figure at the centre
Round the grounds before wondering down a street to find a cool venue for a sit down from the sun, called Iddy Biddy

As per usual, hunger interferes so we go across the junction from this pub
i Carusi ii is an Italian that has us for a typical Davesy ‘half and half’ pizza sharing

Margarita and Diavola – both as yummy as they look ????
Time to split – we’ve got to get back to our original docking point into St Kilda as we’ve got another boat to catch
We make it and have just enough time to look at the Captain Cook Memorial statue, the discover-er of Aus, in Catani Gardens

Back to the pier to board the Penguin Sunset Cruise!
With this activity, we’ve got the chance of catching Melbourne’s Little Penguins voyage back from a day of fishing and back to their burrows
A group of penguins is known as ” a raft” ???? and they can hold their breath for around 2 minutes
We’re taken on the boat around Hobsons Bay which is 30x bigger than Sydney Harbour

People on the boat spot some swimming for their dinner – both os us have terrible eyes clearly as can’t see too well (if at all!)
Once the sun sets, we get closer to the sea walls the Bay has – seems the penguins moved into these walls swiftly after their creation and have made burrows here to stay

We get to enjoy them with our own eyes as the light is very low and gives difficulty for catching a photo of them; take our word for it, this is definitely a tour worth doing!
After we dock up, we head straight for some public transport as it seems we’re one of the furthest points from our hotel we’ve been, so far in Melbourne
From tram to train, it takes us just over 2 hours to get home ???? time for bed
