Day 13 – A gorge-ous view

Biking to the Soteska Vintgar, a gorge – it’s not too far, but boy is it a steep ride to the end!

They do e-bike tours to this place, but we used our free road bikes – was tough, but worth it!

Walking down the gorge is one way and lovely (once you escape the rabble!) We got stuck right in the middle of a coach of old people that took forever to get out the way!

After the gorge walk you are left miles from the start, you can take the red route or green route (a little bit like choosing the red or the blue pill!)

We were recommended green by the locals as it has better views – it did!

Views from the one-way back post-gorge – cow pats aplenty!

Biking back is a lot easier down hill, home in no time and in-and-out with time for a shower!

More biking to go back into Bled with 2 full packs ready for the exciting: laundry

Tokens and tokens and tokens and all the faff…

Nice to feel like backpackers meeting all sorts there: a bunch of angry Aussies, some Americans but it’s finally done! A cheeky beer or 2 while we wait

Dinner at the Art Cafe – not as pricy as most restaurants, but certainly not cheap!

Very decent burgers: one beef, one chicken and of course we go half and half!

Biking home in the dark is fascinating but cold! We see all the stars, a supermoon and fog – eerie, for sure but cool (if you pardon the pun)

Cake in bed as a treat for a hard days work

Note: Make sure not to drive to the gorge – it’s like £10 to park (if you can even get a spot)
