Wake up to the gorgeous seascape out of our cabin window, have a filter coffee, hot cross bun and shower and out
Drive down to the end of the island to see Cape Bruny Lighthouse
Completed in 1838 it’s the second oldest lighthouse still standing in Australia after quite a few shipwrecks in the area.
Decommissioned in 1996 after 158 years it was the longest continuously manned lighthouse in Australia- now replaced by a solar powered lighthouse down the road

After the Cape, we head down to Adventure Bay to the Bruny Island Cruises building for a spot of lunch overlooking the bay

To Adventure Bay Beach for a stroll along the sand watching the Oyster Catchers and an Oyster strutting his stuff

To Mavista Reserve for a walk through the rainforest and try to spot the elusive White Wallaby – no luck on the Wallaby but it was a lovely little walk by a babbling creek
Off we head to the Bruny Island Chocolate Co
There’s no free tastings or tour; it’s mainly just a shop so we buy a cheeky little Kangaroo chocolate to try it out – tasted a bit like the unbranded chocolate back in the UK you get in advent calendars or Easter eggs…

Back across the ferry to Tasmania, head to Hobart to checkin to hotel
Freshen up and out for noms at Twister Sister Thai restaurant

Thai green curry and Pad Thai – the usual favs of course ????
We stroll to the seaside harbour and enjoy parts we’d not seen before, as well as the pretty sunset
This area included a monument in honour of a lost ship that helped the safety procedures for boats and another for how Hobart is connected to Antarctica and the Southern Sea

Finish off the evening with a couple glasses of Tasmanian wine and a round of pool in Irish Murphy’s
