We are out and about and our first visit in Rockhampton is to the Zoo and Botanical gardens
It’s free entry so we aren’t expecting much, but it’s actually a good zoo with a wide variety of animals ranging from Emus to Chimpanzees, Meerkats, Dingos, Koalas and even Otters!!!????

We stay for the Otter feeding and Crocodile talk about the salty and freshie they have here
Afterwards, we head stroll on down to Murray Lagoon and spot a huge number of River Turtles swimming about – plus many Ducks, Comorants, Bin Chickens, Swamp Hens, etc

We head off around the Botanical Gardens spying many a Flying Fox in the trees – we go through the Tropical Fruit Garden, Japanese Garden and past the war memorial before heading to the tea rooms for a spot of lunch
Surrounded by Lorikeets, Miner Birds, Bin Chickens and whatever the guy below is – we have a fish and chips and pancakes

Finally, we hit the road to head towards Seventeen Seventy – we’ve got a 250km drive down the Coast
Check in to our little place in the middle of nowhere – very nice little ensuite bedroom with a kitchen on a man called Sonny’s very beautiful land, including a little lake and all
Drive towards Agnes Water and spot some Kangaroos having fun, they quickly run for cover when the rain starts

Stop by the Seventeen Seventy Marina
We learn the town is named after the year James Cook landed here – shame the weather doesn’t allow the sunset through properly

Up to the Wave Lookout at the end of the hilled peninsula
We’ll be back here tomorrow as there’s a little more of a walk for another viewpoint – the sun comes through slightly though

Down to the supermarket to grab supplies for a cheeky BBQ and then back home
Sonny has a dog at the place, called Nudge, and he keeps guard all evening – a very good boy indeed

Straight to dinner prep: we use multiple kitchenwares available to use for it
BBQ sorts us some delights of halloumi and steak, use the oven for garlic bread and homemade wedges, as well as use the stove to combine the steak with some stir fried veg

Turn in for some London Has Fallen in the telly before bed
