Nice, leisurely morning with Dave being a gent and making brekkie of hot cross buns and some coffee

We get up and get a recommendation of a local delicacy as we leave our place to stay so head off in the car

First stop is back at the 1770 Marina – the 1770 Marina Cafe has the best vanilla slice according to a couple awards over the last couple years (albeit a very local made award)

Pretty yummy and gets us prepped for the next stop

We head up to the top corner of the area again and wait a little for the pouring rain to settle before heading on a walk to Bustard Bay Lookout

Back to check out the Wave Lookout again and then back to Agnes Water

We pop to the Agnes Water Beach – top thing to do in the area is wonder the beach so we do

Very wavy and a clear sign of no swimming yet lots of swimmers and surfers – the red flag must just mean to use caution – we even almost get caught by the waves ourselves!

Time to get on the road – we only have a little way to go (compared to other legs of this trip)

We arrive in Bundaberg and check into our hotel for the night

It’s a quick turn around as we have one activity we at least want to do today – a quick Uber it is to the destination as the local transport here’s a little poor

Bundaberg Distillery Co is just East of the centre and very profound from the outside, for sure

We get in and it’s a self guided little walkway to begin with the history

Apparently, the sugar cane here is different to others grown elsewhere – it produces a thick molasses as a by product which caused discussion over one hundred years ago and the reasoning for founding the Bundaberg Distillery Co

There’s even a couple interactive segments of it

We learn it’s not only been brought down once, but twice! They were first burnt down in the 1930s and rebuilt in about 3 years and then suffered a flood more recently where they recovered a lot quicker

With the later, they were able to help the whole local area with supporting with donations and creating a new line of rum to generate income for further donations – a marketing goldmine for all!

We’re guided around the distillery but are not allowed to take our belongings as it’s a high risk area, so no photos sadly

Amazing stuff they have going on and only around 40 members of staff functioning the entire operation – all solely from this one site too!

The tour gives us a couple samples each of a couple of the products they sell here, even a couple special ones they only sell directly from here

We have those and then grab a little something for the walk back to town – it’s a 40 minute walk, don’t judge us ????

Into town, we get to a vantage point of the Burnett River

There’s a little place to catch a little of the sunset as well as a Pelican enjoying a grooming session

We go back to a place we walked by as it looked right up our street

Ballistic Bargara is a local brew house and bar that we have a drink with a couple yummy pizzas: a Fire Breather and 3 Little Pigs

They have the barrels right next to you as well as some retro arcade game

We play a game of Scrabble with a drink as well – a fair draw ☺️

Getting tired, we stroll back to our place and have some Dumb and Dumber on the telly before bed
