Up at 10:30am as we have to get a shuffle on with travelling today – might have had one too many last night ????

Coffee, then showers, then off to our local Coop Mart for some supplies and cash

Grab a grab and arrive just at 12pm – we had a ticket for midday but it turns out we needed to be here an hour earlier to get a transfer for another bus station… they kindly update our tickets to the following service

We get a coffee from the bus station while we wait and then get a minivan to the next bus station

Then, we’re loaded on our big bus; we’re off to Cần Thơ which takes 4 hours and we’ve got ourselves on a day sleeper bus

Pretty boring ride but interesting to be horizontal the entire journey!

We actually arrive an hour early and quickly get a Grab to our hotel, MidMost Villas

Another shower is needed before we go to explore the area – our hotel, kindly, gives us a map with some food recommendations

We wander down streets, past a couple of the recommendations – including a food street – to get us waterside, where the Ninh Kieu Wharf is

On the way, we walk through the Chợ đêm Ninh Kiều night market

A famous thing here are the floating markets so we’re in the hunt for a trip; out hotel offered one but it was an expensive, private option and we think we can do better

Right by the water are several trip vendors so we book it – only £7 for both of us!

We continue down around the water before hunger gets the better of us and we get to Mekong 1965

The price of everything is very cheap so we get straight to ordering several things to share and a couple of fresh juices

After dinner, we go back to the wharf and admire the Ho Chi Minh Monument and see the many dinner cruises

At the edge, we make it to the Lotus Walking Bridge

There’s no cars or bikes so it’s doing better as an actual walking tourist spot than the Ho Chi Minh walking street!

We walk over it, get back to the night market and get back via the food street

Here, we pick up some fresh oranges and apples as a healthy dessert

Back to our hotel, we use their washing machine while doing a little work before getting Those Who Wish Me Dead on the laptop

It’s a very early start so bed ASAP!
