Day 197 – Fireworks are the new sunset ????

A later wake up gives Davesy enough time to actually have a good amount of energy for exploring!

Dave is up before Daisy so does a little work and then we get up and head out

We try the Vui Fest Bazaar street, we found last night, for some food – seems it’s only open for the evening

With food as a priority now, we make it to a place we’d seen before: Venice Cafe

The venue is rather fancy – so much so, we feel underdressed ???? before they potentially realise, we get to ordering some familiar noms

A beef burger and a spag bowl, better than we’ve had direct from Italy so we don’t mind it being over the typical price tag around here

They even sort us some lovely hot cappuccinos – Dave’s found his happy place ☺️

After, we venture to the centre and reach the Colloseum-like building to find out more about the cable cars we see above the place

We’re a bit late to do it today but that works for us anyways – the price includes entrance to some attractions to the islands it takes you to!

Turns out this is actually the longest one in the world and we’re getting excited for tomorrow

Here, we also find the only ATM in this town as well as get a map about the entirety of Sunset Town so we’re able to make the most of our time here

We make our way back to the hotel where we spend some time doing a little work and planning for after our visit here ends before getting ready and back out

Before we head off, we discover our hotel actually has a banging rooftop view!

Next, we make our way to the Kiss Bridge – the bridge is cut off on the countdown to sunset as we learn the watersports show we watched yesterday is ticketed to view from here and is called the Love Hurricane

We learn that the the Kiss Bridge is a new Phu Quoc icon, symbolising unity and endless love, and was designed by Marco Casamonti; it opened in 2023 and spans 810 m and is made from about 5,000 tons of steel

After the sunset, we get to Vui Fest Bazaar in hunt for some dinner

A stroll from one end to the other finds us a sausage on a stick for our first food choice

There’s so much to choose from so we get stuck on our next tapas-y option so go for more of a main meal to share

We go to Kung Fu Noodles and order the chicken char sui noodles, that eventually comes with some pork too, and a couple of drinks elsewhere

We’ve got to go as we’re aiming for a show on the Sunset Town Beach as there’s a show set for 7pm – we arrive a little late but it seems they’re still in rehearsal mode

The Vietnamese Puppetry show starts properly not long after though – with some technical difficulties throughout, it’s still fun to watch

It’s the first water puppet show on the beach in the world – we’ll come back for a proper showing tomorrow

For now, we go back to the food street and get some unknown meat skewers for 30p each

Then, we go to a stall we spied before for a very cheap combo deal of a bahn mi and a pineapple juice each, coming to a grand total of around £3.30 – very, very spicy and delish

We’re then enticed by a tiramisu and a couple of passion fruit mojitos ans stroll around looking for a spot for to watch later to come

Unfortunately, we realise we need to use the facilities and go back to the bazaar for that before going back to the beach

We end the night enjoying the nightly fireworks they do here!

Time for bed – we make our way back, get prepared for tomorrow morning and finish The Running Man before bed
