Day 200 – A little luxury for Davesy

Seems we’re hitting the utility outage bingo: the electricity goes out this morning so we are baked in our little hotel ???? we weren’t really sleeping anyways though as the curtains didn’t really do much and the local Cockerels were making themselves known!

Rant over – we stew in the room until we pluck up enough will to leave and go across the road to O BON PAIN-FRENCH BAKERY

They do, indeed, deliver on actual patisserie so it’s a little treat with a cappuccino each

We then wander back over to actually get ready for the day and find some kitties being playful, on the way

We check out of the hotel, a night out early, and check straight into an improvement; it’s about double the price but we’re worth it (and in the grand scheme of things, it’s not too expensive!)

Night Sea Hotel sorts us a luxury room with two beds with a view of greenery and the sea

We drop our stuff and head out instantly for some lunch round the corner, at Bagels ‘n’ Eggs

It seems like a hotspot for other travellers as it’s full so we have a little table at the window and order a treat

A mozzarella and tomato bagel and a mixed fruit pancake stack with two cappuccinos

After, we go back to the hotel and have a dip in the rooftop pool with a lush view!

It’s a little dirty but we’ll take what we can get at this point, it’s still great

Back down to the room, to spend some time doing some work with Shrek in the background, and then get ready to look around the area

It’s a short hop to reach the beach, through a bar, which we stroll up and down while the sun goes down

We get up North where it’s resort after resort – out of our budget for sure!

We settle on a place, called The Malabar, for some cheeky local draft drinks to go with the sunset

After, we go back along the beach until we meet some doggies playing in the sea

We try a different exit out of the beach and find The Cheeky Traveller, an English pub

It’s not so much a traditional place but they do offer pie, chips and gravy!

One chicken curry and one Thai green vegetable curry – not the best but certainly fills a hole

They have games dotted about the place: we played some connect four while we waited for noms, some pool after and then some uno later

There are two other travelling couples we get talking to with a few drinks, some terrible shots, as well as the bar maid being from Yorkshire

We call it a night as it enters the early hours and walk back for a very needed sleep
