Day 240 – Many a rice field

Up to have breakfast today – Dave joins Daisy with having pancakes ????

We go back to the room to get ready and pack – we’re changing room so that we’re on a higher floor hoping it’s not so loud from other guests

To get to some lunch, at ARTE Ubud, we get a Gojek

The place is adorable and has a nice lunch deal on so we indulge in a calzone, for Dave, and a pasta, for Daisy (the barmaid enjoyed her fleeting moment of fame from me ????)

After, we walk a little to find a street lined with cafés – called Karna Street – that leads us to a back entrance of Ubud’s Art Street Market

Sadly, we have next to no space available – and will likely even have to shed some weight of our baggage as it is – so can’t buy anything but it’s all very pretty

This takes us to a view of Ubud Palace so it would be rude not to investigate that

The grounds are free to get in but seem almost abandoned as there’s little information available and things are covered up – again, very pretty still though

Going onwards, we stumble on another art street market – Prianka Ubud Art Market – so decide to stroll down

We reach the end and we’re near another place we’ve saved on the map so make our way there

Kajeng Rice Field is listed but it appears to be an area with many a rice fields all over the shop!

Dave spots some arrows so we follow in hope it’s a circular route

It is: we’ve found Sweet Orange Walk Trail and this takes us round to the other side of a landmark we wanted to visit also today

Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati, also known as Ubud Water Temple, is a Hindu place of worship

There’s a small entrance fee so we opt to give the Lotus Cafe next door a visit as you can get a view and we can get some sugar with a drink

We then get a Grab to North of Ubud, called Tegallalang – Ceking Rice Terrace is a place where you can access a valley of rice terraces though it’s just one of many in the area

Entry is just 50k pp but you can purchase a ticket that includes some of the other attractions here, such as a famous Bali swing or zipline – we decide to go for the simple ticket

You’re able to explore all over the place and a bunch of areas have fish in the water too, which is jazzy

We each have a go in some of the photogenic spots around the place

After, we get a taxi back to Ubud town and are pretty hungry so aim for a little spot for some safe food

Locavore To Go offers burgers and is attached to a local butcher so the meat is very fresh and yummy – we have two different styles of burger to share as well as some loaded fries

Pretty knackered, as this is one of the most active days we’ve had in a while, we wander in search of a supermarket for some  supplies before getting a taxi back and calling it a day
