Day 272 – The home stretch

A 5:20am start today… Dave is even up just before already lovingly preparing coffee to go with our little yoghurts for our arduous day ahead

We have that, shower and head out around 6am to catch a bus; it’s not the bus we need but gets us to a stop where we change to a tram and takes us over the Stone Bridge

A last change to the airport bus takes us there; we speed through security and get a coffee before reaching our flight gate

The Norwegian flight is just over an hour and drops us at Oslo Airport

Here, we have a couple toasted paninis from Starbucks while doing some work

We’ve got a train booked for after 11am which will take us from this airport to Oslo’s other one, TORP

The ride is under two hours and then we have a little shuttle to take us from the destination train station to the airport’s entrance

We figure we should have another snack to keep us going on such a long day

A pepperoni, pepper and onion 30cm pizza to share

Once finished, we get through security and it’s basically time to board

The flight isn’t too long but Ryanair are doing they’re usual of splitting us up quite purposely by putting Dave on row 1 and Daisy on row 30 ????

We land in Manchester!

It’s a speedy de-boarding, out through security and to the railway station and start our new mode of transport

We get a short train to Manchester Piccadilly, where we briefly pop into M&S to collect some juice and crisps snacks, get on another train heading towards Cardiff to get off at Shrewsbury

From there, we change trains and do a last hop to get to Dave’s old stomping grounds and walk to home

We have some dinner lovingly prepared by Dave’s mum, have a natter with several mugs of tea before going to bed!

All in all, we have been moving about through two countries to get back to the UK which took about 16 hours

It’s been 7 months since we last stepped foot in the UK so it’s been a while but we’re not finished yet… we plan to be here for a couple months with several big activities planned before manoeuvring onto some other big plans!
