We’re at a good friend’s place and Dave wakes up to have a coffee with him while Daisy faffs getting ready for the day
By just before 11am, we’re out and about – that puts McDonald’s breakfast out of the question though ????
Today, Leamington is hosting a half marathon through the streets so we wander into town clapping those heroic people running in the glorious and hot weather we’re having
It’s a treat for us today as we’re going to the English classic of Wetherspoons – not everyone’s “cup of tea” but you just can’t beat some of their prices!
A sausage butty with a bowl of chips for Dave, a traditional breakfast as well as some of the chips for Daisy and Neil goes for the big breakfast with some chips too ????
The service is rather slow with the marathon event trickling people out throughout the day but it’s okay
We wander together around town, popping into Hotel Chocolate for Neil, before getting to the train station where we part ways for today ????
The journey is 1 hour and a bit to take us to London Marylebone; we do some work along the route
We land in and are met by another friend: G, or Geraint
Shortly upon arriving, we work out there must have been an error in our thinking when booking versus what we booked – our hotel seems to be a fair distance from the centre ????
To work out a plan with this realisation, we head to The Metropolitan Bar – JD Wetherspoon for a cheeky pint
With a plan, we head over to a locker we’ve just purchased to drop some of our bits (as we don’t have time to go to check into our hotel and then arrive in time for the gig we’re off to) and then onto a tube
Wembley Park is the destination and the place is rammed; we wander down the avenue taking us to the stadium’s front doors and spy Bread Ahead where we stop off

A couple drinks, a beef burger and a chicken burger – not cheap but here is a lot less than within the stadium, we’re told by G ????
After, we make our way to the stadium, into Blue Zone, and the support act has come on – about 30 or 40 minutes before we’d expected
Getting in is pretty smooth, actually, and we’re into the standing area with Paramore belting out ????

They have a 45 minute set and then we have a break to grab a couple drinks – there’s a deal on (if you can call it that really ????) where we grab two draught drinks each for less than £30
With these, and no toilet trip for Daisy (as the queues of the many women are ridiculous, for now at least), we head back to find G and the countdown to the main act commences – again another 15 minutes earlier than we’d imagined
… it’s Tay Tay! Our show of the Eras Tour begins
It’s one hell of a show where she takes the audience through her albums and a plethora of songs

We watch songs from RED, Redemption, Folklore, 1989, Tortured Poets Department and so on
With a 3.5 hour set, she doesn’t even have time to play all of the songs in their entirety ????

She finishes just before 10pm, with the licensing law issue in the UK, with a bunch of fireworks before the stadium decants rather effectively
The organisation of the exit for about 90,000 is quite good – they even have stop/go signs in place to allow the Wembley Park tube station not to be overcapacity
We get a tube to Edgeware Road to collect our bag and grab a doner box each from GDK before getting another to Canon Park
It’s a 20 minute walk to our Premier Inn, in Edgeware, past a classic yet spooky church, and we head off to bed rather quick

The next post will pertain to another, rather large, music-focused event ????
