Day 34 – Chillin around the Aegean

Daisy slumbers whilst Dave has morning escopades: a stroll through the shopping district to the Parliament and then the Athen’s Gardens

Cinnamon roll and coffee watching the world in the centre

Reunited at maccies but dived somewhere else for some lunch, Everest

Chicken pasta salad, Caesar salad baguette, a hot flat white and a cold flat white

After, we make haste to the tube to get on with the day and go to Piraeus

Turns out to be more of a commercial port and marina but we stroll on around to Marina Zeas

It’s very hot and we decide it’s time to aim for a dip – there’s a ‘beach’ nearby

After reaching the touristy Piraeus sign, there’s a carpark that takes us to the Votsalakia Beach

It doesn’t much look like the Google images but does actually have some sand – win!

We pop in for a well-needed dip for around an hour and then we’re worn out ????

Further on, there’s another marina area, Mikrolimano, with a few up-market restaurants and opt for a gelato at Sorbetto Gelateria

Cheesecake and Mango/passion fruit ????

Poor woman had them in the freezer as it was so hot and brought out every single one for us to tell us them all! Cheesecake and mango & passion fruit ????

After we reach the end of the water, we pass through the Peace And Friendship Stadium Dog Park where you can see the old Olympic park nearby the station

Hop on the metro and go back to our place to have a breather, freshen up and hunt down some nice dinner

Out for dinner, we go cautiously trying not to go down any too-dodgey-looking streets and make it to H Ωραία Πεντέλη

Dave makes the best choice with the chicken gyros (for under a tenner!)

Wonder around between Psirri Square and Monastiraki Square and settle for Aródou

House 1/2 litre of wine for two – €6.5 ????

Off to bed for an earlier night
