We have a hotel plunger coffee before getting ready for the day
After checking out, we head off to a treat of a Maccie’s breakfast of a “Mac Attack” meal deal – we justify as they don’t do pork sausage patties in their breakfast meals here for some reason
On the road, Dave drives for over an hour and we stop at Annie’s Kitchen for a thai red lamb pie to share and a coffee before switching over and finishing the drive to Wellington
We’re staying at Richmond Guest House where we can easily park our front, get settled and then head out to explore
You certainly have to battle the wind around here!
We walk to the coast to find the Wellington sign as well as the Solace in the Wind (The Naked Man) Statue
There’s a coastal walk that is where we battle the wind taking us around the waterfront till we reach Wellington Museum
We learn a lot about the history that makes up the origins of this city – the third attempt at New Zealand’s capital

This includes three floors of varying topics of information, with one including the difference in the coastline of Wellington Harbour
We’re here for about 1.5 hours and then head almost opposite to Crab Shack which has it’s daily happy hour on – small jars of beer from $6.50 – as well as a food special of chicken wings for $1 each – we go for 20 between us!

After that small pre-dinner, we decide to venture the streets to see if we can find any other food deals on today
We find The Residence that serves jugs of Mac’s Gold Larger for a fair price
Across the road, Daisy is enamored by a sign for $5 tacos and $12 margaritas so we head up to ABV Rooftop Bar for these

Stuffed, we start the journey home
… it doesn’t take long to be enticed into a jazzy looking place, called Minibar, for a nightcap

We’re good and only make it the one before walking back to the guest house and getting some rest
