Day 38 – Roaming to Romania

Up and have to check out – last day in Greece!

Unfortunately, the stay doesn’t have anywhere for us to store our bags during the day so we take our ball and chains for the day

Straight to Donuts & Coffee as Daisy has her heart set on a sweet treat for breakfast

Banoffee crepe filled with bananas, hazelnut praline, chocolate and caramel sauce paired with two large cappuccinos

Leave to stroll around and investigate some things we haven’t done yet: Central Market is filled with tat and locals (rather toasty in the sun)

Round a corner we take refuge in the shade and find some quiet streets

Agios Minas (St. Menas), Greek Orthodox Cathedral, catches our eyes

It takes us back to the main area, now incredibly busy with tourist tours, where the Morosini Fountain is out of its scaffolding shell

The previous Venetian empire continues to have marks left around the place

Now to find Dave a snack, and a proper coffee, at Kritikos Fournos Geuseis (Sourdough Bakery)

Two large cappuccinos and a large cinnamon roll

Towards the sea after, as this will be the last day for a while ????

Once again, it’s airport time for us – back to the bus area and grab the no. 1 bus

Smallest IKEA we’ve ever seen

At the airport, we breeze through security and chill in the duty free pen before having to go through passport control at our gate for the international flight

Wizz divides us again πŸ™ though the flight isn’t full so we can sit together

Landed and through to passport control though not before someone causes ruckus and gets taken away by two police officers at the barrier – no idea?!

Towards the exit, we go through baggage claim and there seems to just be a mound of “old luggage” (left luggage)

Out to some fresh air and we get collected to go get our rented car – adorable little thing!

Can’t argue with Β£3 per day rental

Drive a little way, through some ridiculous traffic, to get to KFC – for some speedy dinner – and LIDL – for some brekkie and supplies

Double Booster burger menu and Hot Bites menu (and Dave’s cheeky hand)

Back in the car, we head to our place to stay for the night

Eventually arrive, with some not easy roads in the dark, we park up and get settled for the beginnings of our explorations of Romania tomorrow!
