Up and want to speed out of this place: no curtains, a bunch of broken items, bugs in the place – everything is just a bit ‘off’

Out and a short pop in the car to our first stop: Snagov Monastary

Beautiful blue skies and an ostrich… (and goats and more stray dogs)

The myth is that part of “Vlad the Impaler” is buried here and has thus become a monastery in his honour
Vlad was a vicious, terroring ruler using impaling as his method to be a wrekoning against the Turkish empire and is fondly remembered in Romania
The grounds are very well maintained and used by Monks – we were allowed to go in to look quietly and take photos for 50 LEI/RON (£10)

Time to head off to Bran Castle, 3.5 hour drive so got to get a move on!
E60 most of the way, lots of spots of traffic – it seems the roads can’t handle the random right turns into residential areas

Getting hungry but seems there’s limited pit stops along the way 🙁 eventually settle for one most of the way there

After noms, we set off again – still about 2 hours out with the traffic!
Driving here is mental: people be crazy, shops right out onto the multi lane roads, makes no sense?!
Crossed the train line – bit scary with no barrier to stop you, just a loud horn ????
Then we pass through Bușteni, this just happens to be where the Netflix show Wednesday is filmed

Mountains upon mountains ????
Sat in traffic for 30 mins for about 5 km, but then… Bran Castle is in view
Chaotic town, seems we’re not the only ones wanting to visit Transylvania around Halloween
Market on, we wonder through masses of souvenir shops

Enter castle, wonder around then up the hill
Castle: great mix of history and horror bits with great views and beautiful castle… good old dracula

Wonder back around grounds, through market to drive to Brasov where we’re staying for the night

Very friendly, lovely hosts with advice about the area and a nice room for us
Head out as it’s time to eat again, we head to the only place that seems to do Indian cuisine in town: Kashmir Brasov
- Venue – good smell lovely staff, tunes, booths – warning about the heat of the Indian food (very polite but not needed for us ????)
- Chips – nice and well seasoned
- Vindaloo – good amount of chicken, good veg in it (ominous and peppers), nice tang – but flavour lost to spice (tho not too spicy)
- CTM – comes in clay pot, has onions and bits, good amount of chicken but over cooked, not standard ctm flavour – bit watery like soup
- Green and garlic naan – more like a flatbread than a naan bread, but plentiful amounts of strong garlic on it – Sorry Dracula ????♂️

Back for a reasonable early night via a very cheap Uber (10 RON)
