Later start than usual with coffee and a quick dash to catch Macca’s breakfast

Down to Fat Camel again to have a couple coffees: a cappuccino and a flat white

With not much of a plan today, we decide to get in the spirit for our new place we have waiting for us in Welly and wander to the retail superstores

Along the way, we spot Pet Essentials Whangarei and pop in to have a look if they have any animals in the store – they do and we see that you can purchase an axolotl!

We carry on and make it to Kmart and identify some items we’ll pick up when we arrive in Wellington, as we won’t be able to take too much for the flight in a few days

Next up is Briscoes and we do the same but also spot a great clearance deal on some bedding and grab it

Peckish, we go into Woolworths and get a pain au raisin for Dave and a chocolate muffin for Daisy before strolling to the Town Basin

We have a closer look at Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery and the café attached to it before making our way back to the motel to have a snack and get on with a little work for a couple hours

Then, we head out to Jimmy Jack’s for a couple happy hour drinks

As there’s no deals on the food today, we decide to pay up and grab dinner from Pizza Hut – a $22 deal of pepperoni and Hawaiian pizzas with chips and garlic bread – with a movie back at the motel and then call it a night
