A slow morning with coffee and toast for breakfast before we get ready and head out to the local mall

The hilly walk isn’t too bad after working on the orchard – I think we’re both a little fitter now!

We get to Glenfield Mall and grab a Pizza Hut meal box each

Making the journey here, we have a look around The Warehouse shop here for some more inspiration for items we’ll need for when we get to Welly and then decide to get back to the house

We attempt to get through our usual route, through Witheford Reserve, but it’s having some repairs done so we try an alternate route that takes you through the greenery and by the road

Eventually, we make it out – though kind of through someone’s garden – and make our way back to the house where we pack our stuff for our journey tomorrow

After, we help out our hosts with some prep for this evening, as they’re hosting a party for the holiday today

Guests start arriving and it’s not long before food is ready!

A whole platter of homemade dishes everyone queues up to pile their plates high – one savoury (see the featured image) and one sweet

It’s not long before it gets dark and the main event is being prepared

As a treat for us, we get to participate in some of the firework igniting!

As it’s a school night, people start making their way home and we assist with some clean up before bed
