IT’S CHRISTMAS!!
We wake up to have a coffee and a mince pie in the room and get ready pretty snappy for a call with some family

Around 11 am, we get out and wander round that centre of Dunedin in search of a proper coffee
Sadly, it seems literally everywhere has shut for the holidays, whether it be just for today or until mid-January for holidays, there’s no coffee or anything else open
However, there are a couple 24 hour and convenience stores that do appear to be open and they thankfully have an actual coffee machine to provide us coffee
As midday approaches, we make our way to Scenic Hotel Southern Cross as we have a booking for lunch today
It’s a little pricey but we have managed to find somewhere to have turkey as it is rather traditional today – we get some bubbles included too

At around 3 pm, we are full and finished up here so head out around the city to walk off dinner and see some landmarks
First stop is Queens Park which has a statue commemorating those who lost their lives in multiple wars as well as a Queen Victoria statue too

We wander over to Lan Yuan, Dunedin Chinese Garden but this is sadly closed today
Next up is the Dunedin Railway Station which stands prestigiously in the heart of the city and has vibrantly well-kept gardens of wildflowers

There’s a bridge to take you over the railway lines and we use it to get to the shoreline, at Steamer Basin
Finding no wildlife, we meander back to our hotel and chill with a couple Christmas films
With nothing really open at all, we find some dinner online and get a healthy discount to make it a nice treat

A friend of ours sends us a Christmas film they have and makes a trailer game where you have to guess whether the films are real or fake which is a nice treat
We both wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope you’re spending it with family ????
