Day 5 – An Italian happy hour

Wake up hungover – maybe a touch too many wines last night… especially since we missed the last train home!

Dave is up – Daisy is still sleeping like a baby

Dave has shower, heads to Lidl for supplies – too hungover to work out the fresh bakery supplies so opt for some nice plastic muffins instead ????

Walk around town for a few hours, come across the Basilica di Santa Maria and a lovely little cheese market around it

I smell bacon!! Follow my nose and behind the next street is a food fest setting up – not open yet so no bacon for Dave 🙁

Start heading for McDonald’s as all hungover people do, it’s too far so I give up and go back to wake up Daisy

A shower and juice and coffee and away we go! To the food fest!

Get the picanha sandwich, it was lush ????

Train to Camilla’s family home in a neighbouring village

Lovely spread and drinks and a homemade pie! What a treat

Camilla’s lovely quaint garden

Too many bugs being out in the country, but we keep moving in and outside to avoid

Drinks drinks and more drinks trying the local delights of the Grappa and Limeoncello (again!)

Camilla displaying her offerings and of course her love of the UK!

Pizza delivery from the only one around and had to be ordered an hour + in advance!

Trains suck, apparently the only way back is a 2 hour journey the wrong way to Verase (the other way!)

Uber home instead with a very fancy Mercedes and man in suit (black cabs they call them)
