Day 507 – Jetlagging

Thankfully, Dave had set an alarm for around 1:30 pm as we would have slept through most of the day!

We force ourselves up and head to Diner 66 Christchurch to share some lunch

To walk off this small feast, we mosey around the city centre finding remnants of the Chinese new year celebrations, in Victoria Square – certainly more than they did for our traditional new year

We follow the path to take us to the edge of the Avon River / Ōtākaro where we get some sightings of longfin eels / tuna up close (see the featured image)

Tuckered out, we get back to the hotel to chill here until the evening

At this point, we ready ourselves and get back to the Riverside Markets, though not before admiring the paradise shelduck and New Zealand scaup / black teal duck

Here, we have three softshell tacos, from El Rancho | Riverside Taqueria, and a drink each, from Sunny’s Bar

Still a little peckish, we share the Moroccan lamb pizza from Base Woodfired Pizza – Riverside

Knackered from a day of truly doing nothing other than surviving jet lag, we head back to the room in preparation for tomorrow
