Plane ride is rough with no included meals or in-flight entertainment

Daisy dozes for most of it and Dave keeps himself out of trouble

Land in Oz early!

…though have to wait for a space to disembark for almost an hour ????

Off and we get in a queue for a passport control ticket

Collected, we get in another queue to use the ticket and then we’re through to customs

Nothing to declare, we go through without them even scanning our bags – they must think we look honest and clean or something ????

Through arrivals, we grab the all-essential coffees: two large flat whites

Carry on walking through to get to the train station; they’re double decker trains!

Grab one pretty quickly, after only tapping contactless to get through, and two stops for us

Out to fresh air and it’s lovely

Only a short walk and we’re at the entrance of Meriton Suites Mascot Central

Smooth, and friendly, check-in and we go up to our room to freshen up before heading out again for some noms and supplies

Dave finds a good spot for some lunch nearby: That Place

Chicken wrap and a beef burger – just what we needed to power us through (after being up for about 24 hours now ????‍????)

Now onto business – we go to Woolworths, certainly a blast from the past

Tired and jet lagged, we take a little longer than usual as the prices are unfamiliar ????

They even sell Kodak cameras!

Back to the apartment to put everything away and then out to explore just a little to make sure we sleep at a normal time!

On the train to St James

Get out and are greeted by wild Ibises in Hyde Park towards Archibald Memorial Fountain

We’ve got a couple chores to do so go into Westfield Sydney Shopping Mall and find JB Hi-Fi City which sorts us a cheap SIM, a Aus and NZ adaptor and an iPhone cable

Out again and find a food and crafts Christmas market around Martin Place – feeling the Christmas spirit even in this heat!

Knicky-knacked with our little outing, we head back for an early dinner

Even accidentally get on the wrong train ????

We do make it back and we get straight to laundry and cooking dinner

So caught up in excitement of food, we forgot to take a picture… but we had chicken fajitas with sour cream ????

Time for chilling with Elf on the telly before an early night when the sun goes down!
