Wake up – we have a train to catch!
Bakery for coffee and giant croissants at Pasticceria La Siciliana – our attempts at Italian did not work very well so gesturing and pointing was the way to go (sorry!)
Train in plenty of time, would recommend using Trainline to track the trains as it seems more on the ball than the signs in the train station!
Lovely scenery all the way with the alps to the left of us, passing Lake Garda (would stop but we have places to be! Maybe next time)

A napping Daisy is interrupted by loud children and Italian aversion to headphones
Verona!
Fanni’s for typical Romagna street food “il crescione” and a coffee (nice to find a coffee for like £1.50 now) – bit like a toasty in a wrap

Check in to lovely and not falling apart hotel, L’Opera Rooms – win!
Walkies to Verona Arena, notable street of fancy shops, Romeo’s castle, Juliet’s balcony, castle on the hill, botanical gardens, along the waterfront over a few bridges and the piazza

There are a lot of sites to see, be ready for some good amount of walking – especially up to the castle!
Hunt for dinner, to the square for some tiny, but yummy, pasta portions at Impero

Stroll to see the castle at night, down to see the bastion (though now a museum), quick pop to supermarket then bed with Chromecast!
Note: Chromecast seems fine to stream stuff in Airbnbs but on hotel wifis it’s rather iffy, so be prepared with a backup plan
