Day 8 – Feeling a bit Muggia

A much needed sleep in

To the castle – only 5/3 (student discount) euros so worth going in to see the views

Science Fiction festival on, so see all the retro displays and things – jazzy gallery

Science fiction festival in Trieste castle

Down to the pier to get ferry to muggia – it’s not actually on the pier (where cruise ships are) it’s actually on the front – a pain to find so give it some extra time! Especially when cruise ships are docked as they close a whole part of the front off

Ferry is easy, get on and pay on board, only half hour across – very windy tho!

Muggia stroll around, hilly narrow streets and pretty sea front but that’s about it

Chilled by the sea with some drinks and leftover strupe waffles – dip toe in, it’s cold and the stones hurt – don’t expect a beach holiday here

The “beach” of Muggia

Note: it’s stone beaches or nothing, so not very swimmable

Note: Castle is private owned so you can’t go in, and can see it from only 1 side – worth a look but don’t try too hard

Catch the ferry back – we got a return ticket so nice and easy but watch out last ferry is fairly early

We hit the supermarket on the way back to Airbnb to get supplies to cook a nice Italian meal (Pasta, bolognese and sausages ???? )

Daisy the masterchef did a banging job
